The Sandy Bay
and West End / West Bay Marine Park Monthly Newsletter
May 2006 in Roatan,
Honduras
May
has shot by and we are now in June, how time has flown.
With the new month comes the release of the April's
finances showing tag and t-shirt sales and money generated
from membership which has yet to catch on! In regards
to the t-shirts, we now have womens spaghetti tops and
mens vest tops, as well as the usual navy, royal, baby
blue and white t-shirts.
Over the past few weeks myself and Greg, with the help
of the Cesars, have been busy striving to acquire NGO
status and hope that if everything falls into place,
this accomplishment will happen in the coming months.
This will be a great achievement and will enable us
greater authority
As many of you should already know, Greg left today
and has gone back to Canada to tidy up loose ends and
will be returning in August. He will be greatly missed
as has become a major contributor to the functioning
of this park but a replacement will be arriving on Thursday
to help out with the day to day runnning of the office.
Her name is Lidia Salinas and comes from Tegucigalpa.
I imagine many of you will get to meet her in the coming
weeks as she orientates herself with the island and
the people.
Other news is that we finally have the electric engine
up and running and from now on will call the boat the
"Silent Avenger". The boat captains who use
the boat are very pleased with the new engine, as am
I, always promoting environmentaly friendly products.
Further details on the engine will be posted on the
web site shortly, along with other recent events.
Well thats me done for now.
Have a good month
Nicholas Bach
