LOCATION

Roatan is situated in the Western Caribbean, approximately 35 kms north of the Honduran mainland, spanning 56 kms in length and 2-5 kms in width. It is one of 8 islands (3 large: Utila, Roatán and Guanaja, and 5 small: Barbareta, Santa Helena, Morat, Cochino Mayor and Cochino Menor) and 65 cays associated with the Bay Islands.

The Sandy Bay West End Marine Park (SBWEMP) is located in the west end of Roatán, between Lawson Rock and Keyhole Bay:
