GET INVOLVED
There are many ways as a tourist,
diver or resident that you can support the Sandy Bay and West
End Marine Park.
- When diving or visiting Roatan
support the businesses and members who support us. See a list
of businesses and members by clicking
here.
If you feel like making a personal
gesture to the Marine Park,
check out our Wishlist.
- When diving, ask to purchase
your Roatan Dive Tag or Bracelet that cost $10 of which all
proceeds go to the Marine Park. For Residents or Non-Divers
be sure to get your tags which make great keyrings or a fashionable
bracelet which might get you discounts at some of the local
bars and restaurants. Day passes are also available for the
Daytrippers. All of the above can be purchased at our office
in West End.
- Donations can be made to the Marine Park at our office in
West End or by cheque made out to The Sandy Bay West End Marine
Park and sent to:

Only with the continuous support
of Divers, Tourists and Roatan Residents will we be able to
protect and preserve the Sandy Bay and West End Marine Park.
We hope over the upcoming months we can also begin some of
the following projects:
1. Put Marine Park garbage bins
through West End. (DONE)
2. Employ ex-poachers to help clean up the beach, the shallow
water and the communities through the park. (IN PROGRESS)
3. Become a legal NGO so we can get more funding. (VERY SOON)
4. Tour the schools educating the children on what they can
do to help the reef. (IN PROGRESS)
5. Put up more signs and posters, in English and Spanish to
tell people what are the rules in the park.
6. Increase our night and dawn patrols. (DONE)
7. Do more scientific research to find out where the spawning
areas are around the island and try to stop fishing around
those areas during spawning.
8. Lobby the municipality to help us with issues regarding
septic tanks and run-off.
We thank you for your interest in the Sandy Bay and West End
Marine Park and hope you decide to Get Involved.
