RESEARCH & VOLUNTEER INTERNSHIPS

The new laboratory
Sadly our plans to enter into a partnership
with the Department of Fisheries (DIGEPESCA) were met with
mistrust from their higher ranks, and we have been forced
to rethink our course of action.
We at the RMP are 100% commited to the
philosophy that effective management must be informed by research,
and so we are still pressing on with our vision of developing
the RMP into a host organisation for postgraduate marine and
sustainable development research projects. So we are now converting
the storeroom at the back of the office into a laboratory
(see picture above). Chuck Somers has drawn up the plans and
building work is due to commence work on the new laboratory
mid April!
Just this morning (4th April 2008) Chuck
arrived to build the new storeroom (we need a new storeroom
before we can clear out the old one!).

Old Store Room, soon to be the lab!

It is an extremely exciting time for the
RMP, as things are finally starting to happen. We will very
soon be ready to commence operations with the Reseach and
Volunteer Internship Programs. More information on these will
be available here very soon.
James is busy developing these programs,
and once they have been cleared by the Board of Directors
we will be open for applications for the various projects
that will be posted.
